Every day we offer a variety of tests for every member of the family!

We regularly run tests for kids’ products — including snacks and other everyday items.
If you have children aged 17 or younger, add them to your profile so we can match you with relevant opportunities.

We offer a wide variety of taste tests and product trials for adults — from food and beverages to personal care items.
Past studies have included products like snacks, cheeses, beverages, household goods, and more — but the possibilities are always changing!

Tests at our facilities

If you live near our Minneapolis, MN; Livermore, CA; or Bound Brook, NJ locations, you may be invited to take part in on-site product tests. We run tests 7 days a week, with sessions available in the morning, afternoon, and evening.

As a thank you, you’ll receive a virtual reward — which you can redeem from as a bank transfer or a gift card.

What is Tasteocracy?

Tasteocracy is a paid product testing community.
We help companies improve their products by gathering feedback from real consumers like you.
Most of our tests focus on food and personal care products, and take place in person at one of our testing locations

Where are your test locations?

We also use nearby hotels and community spaces when needed.

Who can join?

Anyone ages 18–65 who lives or works near one of our locations is eligible to participate.

We also occasionally have tests for adults over 65, and children can take part when registered by a parent or guardian.

Each person may only have one Tasteocracy account.
Most participants are eligible to test once every 60 days, depending on availability and study requirements.

Can children participate?

Yes! Kids as young as 5 can take part in select studies.

To add a child, log into your account and click “Create a New Tester Profile.” From there, you’ll enter your child’s information as a new tester.

When opportunities for your child become available, you'll find them by clicking “Sign Up to a Study” under your child's account.

We also occasionally offer paired parent–child studies, where you and your child participate together.

I have allergies. Can I still participate?

Yes. Just note your allergies in your profile, and we’ll only invite you to safe tests.
While we try to screen for allergens, we cannot guarantee any product is allergen-free.

Why do you need my personal information?

We get it — it’s a lot of questions! But every detail you share helps us do a better job matching you with the right tests.

We ask for things like age, household size, food preferences, and shopping habits so we can invite you to studies that actually apply to you. Some products are designed for specific types of consumers — parents, pet owners, people with certain diets — and your info helps us get those matches right.

We also ask about allergies to keep you safe, and about things like income, education, and ethnicity to help ensure companies are hearing from a diverse range of voices.

Your information is kept private, never sold, and only used for research purposes.

How will I be notified about tests?

The best way to find tests is to log into your account and click “Sign Up to a Study”.
This section shows any available opportunities based on your profile.

We may also contact you by email or phone to invite you to screen for a test or complete a survey you started.
Some studies may also be announced on social media, but not all will apply to you based on specific requirements.

What if I need to cancel?

We know things come up! If it’s more than 24 hours before your session, you can cancel by logging into your account and going to either “My On-Site Tests” or “My Home-Use Tests”, depending on the type of study.
From there, click “Cancel” next to the test you'd like to withdraw from.

If it’s less than 24 hours before your test, please contact Customer Care directly by phone.

Once scheduled, your test details will appear on your dashboard, and you’ll also receive a confirmation email with the time and location.

Please note: Frequent cancellations or no-shows without notice may result in removal from the panel.

What kinds of tests do you offer?

We offer several types of product tests:

  • Taste Tests (On-Site): You’ll come to one of our locations, sample products, and answer a short survey.
    These sessions are usually quick and do not involve interaction with other participants.
  • Home-Use Tests: You'll pick up the product from one of our locations and try it at home.
    Then you’ll complete a short online survey to share your feedback.
  • Discussion Groups: These moderated sessions bring together a small group of participants to share opinions and interact.
    Sometimes they involve product sampling, sometimes just discussion.
We occasionally offer online-only surveys, but most tests require an in-person visit or product pickup.

How and when do I get paid?

Most tests pay around $40 per hour, depending on the type and length of the study.
All rewards are delivered as virtual gift cards within 48 business hours after you complete your test.

You’ll receive an email with redemption instructions and can choose from over 200 gift card options, including major retailers, restaurants, and online stores.

Prefer cash? You’ll also have the option to transfer funds to your bank account (note: a 6% processing fee will be deducted from your earnings for this option).

Note: Rewards are processed securely through our trusted partner platform, Tremendous.

Why wasn’t I allowed to test when I showed up?

There are two main reasons:

  • Test Day Requirements weren't met — we must ensure data quality and participant eligibility.
  • We reached our tester quota — like airlines, we slightly overbook to account for cancellations.

If you show up on time and answer questions consistently with your online survey but are turned away due to quotas, you’ll receive at least $25 as a thank-you for your time.

How do I deactivate my account?

You can deactivate your account at any time by logging in and clicking “Delete My Profile”.
This will permanently remove your account and stop all future contact from Tasteocracy.

If you need assistance, you can also contact Customer Care by phone or chat and we’ll help process your request.

You’re always welcome to come back — just create a new profile if you’d like to rejoin in the future.

Do you take referrals?

Yes — and we love when you share Tasteocracy with others!

To refer friends or family, log into your account and click on “Referral”.
From there, you can fill out the necessary information to send an invitation or share your referral code directly.

When someone you refer signs up and completes a test, you'll earn loyalty points as a thank-you.
The number of points may vary based on current promotions or recruitment needs.
